Tufts Venture Accelerator Bootcamp 2025!
The Tufts Venture Accelerator 2025 kicked off last week with 8 teams working on ventures spanning petcare, healthcare, clean water, education, and more! The teams got to know each other through an Improv Workshop as well as an evening social event. DEC also hosted an entrepreneurship panel of past Venture Accelerator participants to share their experience with the new cohort. There was a lot of hard work along with the fun. Teams worked business fundamentals, diving into marketing, finance, sales and go-to-market strategy, and enjoyed a program on OptimizeU, led by Ali Trachtman Hill, PhD, MPA (Class of ‘98), focusing on the founders as entrepreneurial leaders, not founders as part of their ventures.
Tufts to host Cross University Student Mixer (CUSI) - July 10
Are you in Boston on July 10? If so, we invite you to join the Tufts Venture Accelerator Cohort on our Medford Campus to mingle with student entrepreneurs from peer universities to compare notes on the ins and outs of new venture creation.
You will meet other student entrepreneurs who are in the same company life stage. You will be able to trade stories and resources. You will meet people who can open the alumni networks of other universities for you. Most importantly, you will meet peer teams who will become your extended support system.
DEC hosts dynamic Entrepreneurial Panels during both Alumni Weekends
DEC was honored to host an Entrepreneurial Panel for the two Tufts Alumni Weekends. For the first panel on May 17, Mugs Buckley moderated an all star panel with Vikram Akula, Suzanne Muchin and Joe Bardenheier. For the second panel on May 31, DEC board member Omer Trajman, cofounder and CEO of AskFora, moderated a dynamite panel with Annica Blake, Jason Bravman and Jonathan Chang. A few key themes emerged: Entrepreneurship is about starting before you’re ready, learning by doing, and staying scrappy and persistent as you figure things out. You don’t need to be an expert to begin—but be ready to grow, iterate fast, and pivot when needed.
